Individuals at WORK
When looking at individuals at working environment, we need to understand the person that is running the body.
In this case we are looking at the persons self-image and personality.
SELF IMAGE - powerful concept of oneself.
It is how we see ourselves, if you believe that you are going to be succesful then you will be. If you believe that you are intelligent then you will be.
The story of the Thailand Elephant trainers is interesting in this situation. When they are young the elephants are tied down to an iron pole by a thick chain. At this young age the elephants are not strong enough to just walk away. It tries and tries but never succeeds. In the end it will give up and just believe that I can never break the chain.
Now it will live its whole life with that believe, when it is already old and much more stronger, it will still not break-away from the chain. Its self-image of its strength has already taken hold.
Its just the same for most students - they failed before, or just passed barely in previous exams. They begin to believe that that is all that is in them, that they cannot go beyond that limit that is placed in thier head.
Once you believe that it is possible - it will always be possible, once you believe that it is impossible - then it will always be impossible.
What is possible or not is only limited by the mind that conceptualizes it.
PERSONALITY - the software that governs the body
Its how you relate to the outside world. The components of this is broken down to:
- Personality traits - enduring and stable way of behaving
- Personality types - psychological preference in the way of behaving
The most famous one is Myers Briggs Type Inventory - which is aimed at analysing your personality types by asking you a barrage of questions.
It is important to ensure that your personality is compatible with:
- the job that you are doing
- other people that you have to work with
- the system and culture of the company
Else you have incompatible situations. In a relationship between a girl and a boy its called a break-up but between a married couple its called a divorce. One is just emotionally painful the other is financially painful.
Your personality develops over time by reference to:
- the context in which you deal with the world
- the stimuli that you mind is drawn too
- internal factors - items that match your personality
hence your personality is developed using - perception.
Clashes of perception is common in some business situations
- clashes between managers and staffs
- clashes between race/culture/sex
Lets test your perceptional view of these pictures below: What can you see in Picture 1 & 2 and what word is in Picture 3.

Well the company looks like it specialises in outsourcing in 3 core areas of business - customer service, captioning and AR Management. It is a service-based organisation utilising technology as thier core method of securing business. They seem to be focused on US clients only for now, in the future they may expand into other areas of business areas. They are currently operating in Manila,LA,Cebu and Costa Rica.
